From the title you know I’m going to blog about sunshade, but what sunshade it all about? Straight to the point, today I’m blogging about car sun shade and most of the car accessories shop selling those square type that is not fitted into the screen as it comes with standard size (medium or large) either it fit too large or just way too small of the window. In tropical country like Malaysia, the heat generated by the sun is too hot even with tinted glass. With sun shade it provide more comfort during daytime driving with minimize lighting to the passenger seat.

Now Groovy made sunshade that is custom fit to your car windows that give you a perfect fitting to your window, plus no more issue on sliding up/down windows as it install parallel with the window glass.

Recently UniFi subscriber are increasing from Home to Enterprise users and we received a lot of call from customer asking whether they can bypass Dlink router and dial up from Fortigate. The answer is “Yes”, they can and I do have a similar post that is for Cyberoam UTM firewall to replace Dlink router. The steps are pretty similar and i write up this guide just for Fortigate fans.

Live Support Chat – No longer FREE

I’ve given a project to setup a live support chat on our company website for supporting customer issue using this live chat rather using IM or Skype that required to provide the ID to customer. There are many free live chat on the internet and I found Comm100 that providing much more features than others and they providing the server hosting as well, mean that we do not required to setup our own live chat server and we just required sign up an account and paste the live chat script to website. That’s all, simple and best of all its FREE!

Apple IPad2

Last 2 week just bought IPad2 from Sunway Pyramid Machine where it sell like hot cakes almost every Machine outlet running out of stock. I went to Mid Valley on Saturday noon and the rack for IPad2 was almost empty, left only 16GB Wifi model. I plan to get 32Gb 3G + Wifi model. Back home with sadness on that day so check out Machine Facebook page to check other outlet for stock, surprisingly on Facebook shown Mid-Valley still have stock and the time update was 5pm but i already backed home.

Next day, call up Sunway Pyramid to check for stock status and they still left few units of 3G model. So rush there and get 2 units as my friend want to get 1 too, scare sold off fast just book 2 unit first :). Luckily no long queue else my wife will get mad, since she is pregnant now….

Finally its landed at our hand now and enjoying it :)….

Replace UniFi Dlink DIR-615 router with Cyberoam

UniFi are gaining popularity now but most users complain about the Dlink router that come with it was giving so much problem and always hang. Some try to find alternative router to use with UniFi but failed on dialing up on Huawei fiber modem as on UniFi network they are having 3 VLAN consist of Data, IPTV and Voice call.

For Enterprise user they are mainly use on Data VLAN and those firewall or router that support PPPoE over VLAN can actually replace that Dlink. Here i wrote a simple guide on how to replace Dlink router with Cyberoam UTM that have the PPPoE over VLAN capabilities.

Q-strap (Quick-strap) is an alternative product apart from R-strap design with enhancement that i find it very useful compare to the originals and it’s cheaper. Before i use Q-strap I’ve been using the original strap from Nikon where most of the time it rest on your shoulder or neck, right? Place in shoulder sometimes it might feel like easily dropped and putting over your neck will strain all over your neck and shoulder. I did experience this when i travel to Bangkok last time for a week and putting your DSLR camera over your neck walking around is not a very good idea, luckily massage in Bangkok was cheap so went for full body massage every night :).

It’s using solid metal material for the base and the quick release appear solid and durable. There is also a safety slot for you to put a string to attach to your camera body to secure the camera body. I did not put the safety string yet even I’m just back from my travel trip recently as i do check the screw mount every time to make sure it lock firmly but surprisingly it does not come to loose.

There are few advantages that i found compare to R-strap is the mounting plate is large enough to support DLSR body and this would not cause the mounting screw to get loose when hanging on your hips while moving around. The mounting screw do have the tripod mount so it can mount directly to tripod without removing the screw, so its very convenience to hook up to the tripod. The shoulder pad also have compartment to put 2 memory cards and it would be very handy when you need that.

Apart from all the advantages it do have some disadvantages that i find it quite discomfort, the should pad seems to be quite slim and does not able to provide a very comfortable but much better comparing to original strap :). The shoulder pad also does not able to sit firmly on the should and it always dropping to the back, it required you to adjust every time after taking a photo.

Overall I like this Q-strap because it able to provide a comfortable way to carry your DSLR and able to reach your camera easily enable you to capture every single precious moment with a very reasonable price. I bought it from Direct Photo and it do have for dual camera body model.
