Not sure if you know how to check shutter count for Nikon, but there are tools in the net able to help doing that and I’m using this software call Opanda IExif and can be download from here for free. The usage is pretty simple, where you just need to open the last image from your shooting in Opanda and you can see the shutter count there like the screenshot below:-
From there you will know the number of shutter being released from your camera. Alternatively, if you do not wish to install additional software to you pc, you can use Flickr to check the shutter count. It’s very simple and its available on the net, you just need to upload the last photo you shoot and you can see the shutter count from the “Additional information” at the right hand bottom corner and click on the “More properties” to view all the information on this photo.
It provide a lot of information about the photo including apenture, shutter speed, focal and all those information needed by photographer. You will notice almost at the bottom of the information there you can find “Shutter Count” and this is where you can see the shutter count.
